✅The TRICONEX DI3301 is a high-density, non-isolated digital input (DI) module. Its primary function is to acquire digital signals from field devices, such as switch status (on/off), button presses, or limit switch states, and input them into the Tricon controller for processing.

✅As a core component of the Triconex safety system, the DI3301 module is designed for ultimate reliability. It does not have built-in hardware redundancy, as the Tricon system in which it resides inherently ensures system safety and availability through a triple-redundant architecture (three independent processors and I/O modules).

Key Functions

Digital Signal Acquisition: The DI3301 module receives and processes dry or wet contact signals from field devices. It detects and reports 0/1 logic states, providing essential data for control system decision-making.

High Density: This module typically provides up to 32 input channels, enabling processing of a large number of field signals in a single slot, saving cabinet space and simplifying wiring.

No Isolation: This module’s input channels typically lack electrical isolation. This means all inputs share a common terminal, making it suitable for applications where field signals originate from the same power or ground system.

Usage Method

The DI3301 module is a component of the Triconex system and is typically used in a modular manner:

Physical Installation: Insert the DI3301 module into the designated slot of the Triconex controller chassis.

Wiring: Connect digital signal lines from field devices (such as limit switches or pushbuttons) to the terminal blocks on the front of the module.

System Configuration: Use Triconex-specific programming software (such as TriStation or Triconex Workbench) to configure the DI3301 module, including defining the purpose of each channel, alarm settings, and association with control logic.
