The IC698CRE030 is a PACSystems RX7i series central processing unit (CPU) module from General Electric (GE) Fanuc. It is a high-performance PLC core component designed for real-time control of complex industrial machines, processes and systems.
Key Functions
CPU: As the brain of the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), the IC698CRE030 is responsible for executing user programs, processing input/output (I/O) data, and managing the operation of the entire automation system.
Hot Standby Redundancy: This is a key feature of this model. It allows the system to be configured with two CPUs, one as the primary and the other as the backup. In the event of a primary CPU failure, the standby CPU can immediately and seamlessly take over control to ensure continuous system operation, thus minimizing downtime.
Communication Capability: The module integrates an Ethernet interface (10/100 Mbps) that supports multiple communication protocols such as TCP/IP and EGD. It is also equipped with multiple serial ports (RS-232, RS-485) that support protocols such as Modbus RTU Slave and SNP, allowing it to communicate with programmers, human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and other devices.
High-performance processing: The CPU utilizes a 600MHz Pentium-M microprocessor with 64MB of user memory and 64MB of flash memory, which is more than enough to handle complex control tasks and large amounts of data storage.
Multiple Programming Languages Support: It supports a variety of programming languages, including ladder diagrams, C language, structured text and function block diagrams, providing engineers with flexible programming options.
Web server function: IC698CRE030 allows data monitoring and control via an embedded web server, supporting up to 16 web server/FTP connections.
